ABOUT THE ARTIST
Pablo Francis is an Australian artist and commercial designer who has worked with coffee, acrylic, and ink on canvas for more than 25 years. He likes the flow, immediacy and unpredictability of these mediums.
The artist lives and paints in St Kilda East, Melbourne. He takes inspiration from the grand old Victorian architecture, iconic seaside neighbourhoods and urban tagging, as well as the glossy elegance of luxury goods.
Commercial success with his coffee and ink streetscapes is ongoing, particularly when the subject is Rome, Paris or Melbourne—all famous for their love of coffee, and their iconic architecture. These renderings have both loose and tight elements, blended with coffee for an earthy, tonal feel.
